How to Rejuvenate Your Mind & Find Your True North in 5 Steps!

Have you ever felt stuck, stressed, or just unmotivated in your business?  Silly question right?! If you are an entrepreneur (hey, let’s be real, if you are a person doing anything on this earth it can happen) at some point you will find yourself in a place of stress & feeling stuck. Maybe you are feeling that way right now.   Sometimes this is due to outside circumstances and other times it’s just in our own head.  The good news is, it only takes ONE really great day of focusing on these 5 steps to break free from the feeling!  These 5 “R’s” will help you rejuvenate and discover your true north again.

#1 REVISIT - Revisit who you are and what you are called to do.  Why are you doing the business you decided to start?  Revisit that excited- “I can do this”  feeling you had when you first started.

#2 RECONNECT - Reconnect with your personal strengths & your superpowers! When you can reconnect with what you are naturally good at and why these superpowers will help you succeed you will feel empowered!  (I personally love Clifton Strengths34 Assessment - you can take this assessment at https://store.gallup.com/c/en-us/assessments ) If you know your Top 5-10 Strengths I recommend listening to the Called to Coach Theme Thursday Podcast to reconnect with your personal superpowers in your top themes.

#3 REGROUP - What have you been saying yes to that isn’t serving you anymore?   Do you have any buyers' regrets on recent purchases?  What do you need to get out of your home or your head that just doesn’t feel right?  Regroup, say no, cancel the membership.

#4 R & R - Take a day for Rest & Relaxation.  Get off of social media, take a walk, go for a run, spend time dancing, spend time reading a good book, create something, listen to music, take a nap, cook a really good meal, chat with a funny friend.  Do something that makes you feel good & out of your normal pattern.  Take care of yourself for a day or at least a few solid hours of the day.

#5 REMIND  - Remind yourself of what you really want, what gives you joy,  what your mission is for your business, and your vision for your life! Take time to dream again and get centered on these things.  Also, take time to Remind yourself of past achievements, things you've accomplished, or where you were an overcomer in your past.  By doing this, you will remember that you are awesome and you can do anything you put your mind to! You’ve done it before you can do it again!

These 5 steps done in ONE DAY will leave you feeling like your best self again!! Rejuvenated and ready to conquer your goals for 2021! You’ve got this!

So if you are a regular listener, you're new or if you're new, and something resonates with you today or at any time, shoot me a message. I love to hear from my listeners. All right, let's jump into today's show. And I'm actually going to give you a rundown of what's happening for the week.

0:56

Okay, so again, welcome back. And we are on day 11 of our 100 days of podcasting. And if you don't know what I'm talking about with 100 days of podcasting, go back and listen to I think it was on December 31. The podcast they are what I launched is actually the last one of season one, where I took on a challenge to do 100 podcasts in 100 days. And it's been a little challenging, I will say, but it's also been a lot of fun because it just helps me get creative, which is what I love to do. And it helps me focus on one of my priorities, which is the podcast. So the other thing it's been great is some days, you know that you have those days that like nothing gets accomplished. But as long as I've checked off at least one thing, which is do the podcast, I'm okay. So it's been great in many ways. And also, this is pretty cool. So my listening rate has jumped over 325% over the last 14 days. So I would say it's also increasing our ratings, which ultimately is what we want, right?

2:09

All right. So today, I'm going to talk to you about five R's of how I found myself again, and you may even hear it in my voice, I hear it in my voice, I can feel it in my soul. And my being this last week was challenging. If you listened to any of the shows last week, you know, it was a challenging week for me, just a lot of stuff happening. And I felt really weighed down. If you listen to Sunday mornings podcast, it was a different vibe. And I felt that I felt it totally in my being. But last night, by the time I went to bed, I felt like I was set free. I felt like myself again. I felt distressed I literally could feel the stress leaving my body yesterday. And I wanted to share with you the five R's as I reflected on it this morning. It's actually one of the hours. That wasn't one of the R's, it should have been one of the R's that would be the six are let's make that the six. So as I reflected this morning on what did I do yesterday that helped me be basically set free and feel like myself again. I found these these steps that I did. Some were intentional, and some were not. But I'll share those today with you.

3:29

Also, I wanted to give you the lineup. Now if you know me at all, everything I do is subject to change. I am very spontaneous. And if I feel like wait, no, this would be way better today, I might go with that. So this is what I have in my calendar that everything subject to change. So today we're doing our hours on how to find yourself again and get clarity on what you really want in your life and your business of tomorrow. You're in for a super great treat of I did a great interview with a new friend of mine, Carol Fontaine, who wrote a book on sailing above the clouds. And it's her journey through a lot of different things and how she found her way through her journey. You're gonna love the interview, it was so much fun to do. And let's see Wednesday, I'm going to go through some steps on how to make decisions in your life and filter through a series of questions that will help guide you and making the right decisions in your business. Then on Thursday, the plan is to dive deeper into finding your calling and working in your strengths. And you're going to hear a little bit about that today. why that's so important. And then Friday, we're going to talk about affirmations and positive expectancy and what a difference that makes in your business. So that's kind of the lineup for the week. so far. And again, always subject to change.

5:04

Okay, let's dive into today's show. So, first of all, you know, there are going to be times in your life and in your business where you are going to be weighed down, and you're going to feel like this weight. And maybe you you're like me, I feel it in my neck. And it also causes headaches, like I physically can feel it. And of course, aren't we all like, Oh, my God, is that COVID? Like, have you had that thought all year? Like every time you have a headache, or sore throat, or cough? Is that COVID? COVID? Are you you know, Corona? Are you showing up? Totally was not. But for me, it's a lot of stress, or, you know, physical stress. And just I feel weighed down, I feel this anxiety, and just on edge. So, here's some of the things I did yesterday. Number one, is I revisited. So that's our first hour I revisited who I am. And what I'm called to do. I spent some time yesterday morning when I woke up, and just kind of thought about who am I and what do I really want and what are my gifts.

6:15

And at the same time, which is number two, I reconnected with my top 10 strengths. And what I mean by strengths is my strengths from gallops Strength Finders, you guys know I am obsessed. And I live by these. But I'd kind of gotten away from it. I was so focused on so many other things over the last couple of months that

6:41

I didn't revisit my strengths, or connect with them. And I happen to come across a great podcast, which if you have done your strengths assessment, I highly recommend it. And it's called to coach theme Thursday's. And this is by Gallup. And again, it's called call to coach theme Thursday's. And what they are doing right now on their podcast is they're taking all 34 themes. And each day, it's like a one minute podcast, featuring one theme. And it tells you a little bit about just summarizes in one minute, what your theme is, and how you can use that in your business and your life. Again, I'm going to dive deeper into that on Thursday, I had to look at my calendar on Thursday. But for me, it was wonderful and actually even had my husband listen to them with me again. And now they don't have all of them up yet. So I could I could only do a few of my I think I had like six of mine that were up of the top 10. And it was great because as I listened to him I jotted down with him. I jotted down some notes as like, that's why I'm doing this. That's why I'm gonna be a great coach. Well, that's why I do this, well, oh, I haven't been doing that. I need to do that. And it just reminded me to use my superpowers. That's what your strengths are there your DNA, your God given superpowers. So I revisited who I am. And I reconnected with my strengths.

Number three, and again, I don't mean to leave you hanging with the strengths and your superpowers. We're gonna dive way deeper into that on Thursday show. Okay, number three, I regrouped. And what I mean by regrouped is I actually looked at and this was kind of another are thrown in there, I looked at some of my buying regrets that were weighing me down. Okay, one was a simple one. I am a sucker for the videos on, you know, that pop up on Facebook and all that, like, I love to learn new things. I love to try new things. And Facebook knows that. So they're always sending me these videos to watch. And a couple months ago, I ordered these vitamins online that were going to help me lose weight helped me be better all this yada yada yada. And it was one of these deals. You know how it goes. The first batch is pretty inexpensive. But then if you don't cancel the next batch is really expensive. And I did that and I forgot to cancel. So they sent me this new box. Now I did go on immediately and I cancelled the next subscription but I really don't want these. I have unopened bottles I haven't taken yet because it's like five or six different vitamin things. And they're probably great. Like there's nothing wrong with them. Um, but I just don't need them right now. And it was expensive. So I emailed them. I said can I return the box? It's unopened. And they're like, sure. And as soon as we get it, we'll refund you. And that felt so good to be proactive. I was like, No, I'm not going to keep this that I don't really want in my life right now. I don't need it in my life right now. Even though it's probably good, and they probably would be good for me. I don't When it right now, and sometimes we have to regroup and make those decisions, it's easy to say no to the things that we absolutely know are not good for us. You know, like, hey, if it was a, you know, obviously some drugs like, you know, non legal drugs, I would get it easy. No. But sometimes it's hard. So you know, two things that are properly okay are good, but they're not good for you right now.

10:31

So that felt good. The other thing I had to regroup and was another buyer buying regret. I had signed up for a course that launches actually today. And again, I'm sure if I followed through on it, I would learn a lot. And I would get a lot from it, I'd probably gained some new business from it. But it just wasn't sitting right with me. And I realized it wasn't the way I wanted to work my business. So I've reached out to them, I sent them an email, Hey, can I get out of this program, and it was like $100. So it's not like a huge expense. But hey, that's $100, I could use towards something I really want to do to pay another coach that I really want to work with right now. So that just felt very free to be proactive in saying no to some of the buying regrets and seeing whether or not I can get my money back. I don't know if I can still get my money back with that one. But just the fact that I made the decision that no, I'm not going to do this course right now. Because even if I can't get the money back, I'm not going to spend time doing it. And that was a hard decision for me. Because I know if I did it, again, I would probably learn a lot that would help me today and in the future. And I would probably gain some new business. But again, it just wasn't aligning. And even my husband said no, I don't feel like that's the way you want to do your business. So just saying no and regrouping on what, what's the path I really want to take? That was very freeing, like I physically could feel my body release.

12:08

Number four was rest and relaxation r&r. We took you know, my husband was off yesterday. So generally, when he's off, we take it we bundled up, it was chilly out, we took a walk. We spent some you know a lot of quiet time around the house. He was watching football. I worked on my vision board. I'm just really relaxed yesterday, no agenda, no to dues. You know, there were a few things I wanted to get done. Like my vision board, we hung some stuff up in my office, you know, so we got some stuff done, but it was at a very easy pace took long naps. So the rest of relaxation, I highly, you know, we need that in our lives, our bodies need that our minds need that we need that.

12:54

Number five, was I reminded myself of what I really want in my life, what my mission is, what my vision is, what my goals are. And I also reminded myself of past successes. I've had achievements I've done. And how did I do that? So one, the first part of just reminding myself what I want in my life and my mission and my vision. That will happen when I was working on my vision board yesterday. And you know, really finalizing what's going to go on my vision board, what is it going to look like? So I was very clear on my vision, no pun intended, working on my vision board. And then reminding myself of what I have achieved in the past was simply as when we were hanging things up in my office, excuse me. Sorry, hanging things up in my office. One of the past things I wanted to hang up from my direct sales business, were plaques of our unit achievements. And you get a plaque starting at when your unit achieves $300,000 in sales for the year. And we've done that five over 300 It starts at 300,000 in sales for the year that you've that I've led by unit to that club. And that's it's a prestigious level. As you can imagine, not many people get to that level. And it goes all the way up to you know well over a million dollars but every 50,000 there's an increment. So we have achieved 300,000 at our unit to three time looking at my plaques three times and 350 twice. Now one year I did not take a plaque to cash instead. Which I kind of regret because now I realize like there's something about looking at your past achievements.

14:49

So have them hanging on my wall. And I said to my husband because that that program that we decided not to go forward with. They have what they call the comic club And the two comma club and three comp, you know all these comic clubs. And I said to him, it's like, hey, I've achieved the two comma club and Mary Kay, oops, um, you know, in my direct sales, I've achieved that. Because if I added up just those years, those five years that I've won plaques, that's a well over a million dollars in sales that I've led my unit to achieve. And there's been a lot of years, there's been 14 other years that we didn't achieve unit club, but we sold a lot, we came close. So that was pretty cool. Just that reminder that I can do hard things, I can be successful. And if I was successful in that business, there is no reason why I can't be successful in this new business, especially when I look at my strengths. And what I'm naturally good at, they totally align with my new coaching business even more than they aligned with my direct sales business. So after doing all that yesterday that revisiting who I am reconnecting with my strengths, regrouping and getting rid of buying regrets, rested, r&r, every Monday, myself of what I want and what I have accomplished. By the end of yesterday, I felt like 50 pounds, no, probably like 100 pounds lighter. The stress in my neck was gone. I slept great. And I woke up today just renewed and ready to go. So I hope these R's These steps will motivate you if you're feeling not like yourself, and you're just feeling stressed and bogged down. And just and sometimes we can't even put our finger on it. Like sometimes we know there are outside circumstances in our lives happening. And these will still help you. And sometimes we don't even know why we're feeling that way. But spend time doing these ours. I'll list them in the show notes so you can see them are writing and see what happens with your life. I hope they make you feel as rejuvenated. As they made me feel alright friends.
